Dr. Lauzardo is a tenured professor at the College of Humanities, University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, where she has worked for over 20 years as professor and academic administrator.Her work as a translator includes the Spanish translation of Puerto Rico en el siglo Americano: su historia desde 1898 by Dr. César J. Ayala and Dr. Rafael Bernabe (San Juan: Ediciones Callejón, 2011); Spanish translation, in collaboration with Waldemar Burgos, of the play Marisol by José Rivera (premiered in April 1, 2008 at the University of Puerto Rico) published in Teatro puertorriqueño en Estados Unidos, Rosalina Perales, ed. (San Juan: Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña and University of Puerto Rico, 2011); English translation of the play El día de la Madre (Mother's Day) by José Ignacio Valenzuela and Julián Quintanilla (2011); subtitles and translation (Spanish/English) for the feature film América, directed by Sonia Fritz and produced by Isla Films (2011); English subtitles for Dr. Rosa Luisa Márquez’s documentary film Brincos y saltos (2011); the English translation and notes, in collaboration with Dr. Susan Homar, for the book Puerto Rican Artisanal Cookery by Emma Duprey de Sterling (San Juan: University of Puerto Rico Press, 2008); English subtitles for the film Las estrellas del estuario, directed by Sonia Fritz (2008); the Spanish translation and notes for Escritos sobre la idea de virtud y sentido moral by Francis Hutcheson (Madrid: Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales, 1999); the Spanish translation and notes for Aventuras de Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe (Madrid: Espasa, 1998); and the Spanish translation of Mujeres renacentistas . La búsqueda de un espacio by Margaret King (Madrid: Alianza Editorial, 1991). She is currently directing and collaborating with Dr. María Mercedes Carrión (Emory University), Dr. María Dolores Luque, Dr. Lanny Thompson (UPR), and a group of students from the Graduate Program in Translation on the Spanish translation of Lieutenant William Armstrong’s manuscript travel logs documenting his travels around Puerto Rico between 1907 and 1910.
