Translation is among the fastest-growing employment sectors. The Graduate Program in Translation at the University of Puerto Rico, one of the oldest in the hemisphere, is the only graduate translation program in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. It is also one of the few graduate programs of its kind operating in the United States and Canada.

Learn translation at the Graduate Program in Translation

The Graduate Program in Translation began offering courses as an experimental program in 1970. It was officially established by decision of the University of Puerto Rico Academic Senate in 1972. In 1974, after receiving certification from the University Board of Directors, the PGT (for its Spanish abbreviation) was officially incorporated into the College of Humanities Master’s Degree programs, thus becoming one of the first graduate programs in the field.
