Vázquez Sánchez, defended his thesis titled Las narrativas compartidas de la modernidad: estado de derecho , violencia y cuerpo and Las dimensiones del género en la resistencia cotidiana urbana, a translation from English into Spanish of a selection from Rituals of Violence in Ninetteenth-Century Puerto Rico: Individual Conflict, Gender, and the Law by Astrid Cubano Iguina.
