On November 15, 2013, Rebecca Sumner Burgos, defended her thesis titled Puerto Rico in Patria a translation from Spanish into English of Puerto Rico en Patria by Edgardo Meléndez.
The Thesis Committee, formed by Roselina Rivera, M.A., Marta Stanchich, Ph. D., and thesis advisor David Auerbach, Ph. D., awarded her thesis the grade sobresaliente.
